EDPB - Public consultation: template for personal data breach notification
The EDPB has released a draft data breach notification template for public consultation. The template is primarily designed to be implemented by DPAs via an IT tool. It incorporates rules to collect certain information only when necessary. It includes predefined values and recommended tooltips to facilitate the answering for organisations.
The consultation runs until 5 August 2026.
Following the public consultation, the EDPB will decide on the timeline for the practical implementation of the template by all DPAs
